Since 1999, 'Waterfalls of Ontario' and its predecessor has served as a free online resource for the Ontario waterfalling community. Relying on grassroots input from people like YOU, we have introduced thousands of people to the joy of waterfalling!

This was the first web site in Ontario to inventory and map waterfalls for visiting. (See archives from 2003 , 2012 and 2018.

The book 'Waterfalls of Ontario' was published by Firefly Books (© 2003, 2011, 2018) and has sold tens of thousands of copies. It was the first published resource to present an inventory of hundreds of waterfalls in Ontario that can be visited. This inventory has since informed other similar initiatives.

This means that you cannot simply copy and paste content for use on your own web site. Many images have been provided with special permission by well-connected members of Ontario's outdoors community.

In 2020 and 2021, many members of the waterfalling community reported that other Ontario-based web sites had plagiarized entire passages of text from Waterfallsofontario.com (and other respected sites). Aside from being illegal and unprofessional, this is embarassing... Your visitors are already noticing that you plagiarized from long established resourced. Is this really what you want to be known for?
