About the Greater Toronto Area
The City of Toronto itself has no natural waterfalls (not that I know of at least!). But you don't have to go too far out of the city to go waterfalling.

You could start with a trip to Hamilton - it has so many waterfalls that I carved it out of the GTA and given it its own region section. However, if you're a little more adventurous try a nice day trip to the Niagara area, to Escarpment country in Halton, or to the Grand River near Fergus/Elora.

The highlight is Niagara Falls itself, of course. If, like many people, you find it overwhelming and commercial, go with Balls Falls. It gives you two good-sized waterfalls (except in late summer) and lots of great hiking, all less than 90 minutes from the city.
