This is a big, wild, top-notch waterfall, about 25m high. It remains wild and mostly unspoiled because of the long hike; long enough that some people choose to make an overnight camping trip out of it.

I have also read that hikers can make it to the falls and back in about 6-7 hrs total. Hiking estimates vary and since I have not yet visited, and I would welcome any tips.

Access is via the Towab Trail, which is apparently well marked and not too challenging except for the length. The trailhead is reached from Frater Rd, about 4 km from Hwy 17. There are signs for the trail on Hwy 17, about 1.5 km south of the bridge over the Agawa River. The road intersection is at 47.3471, -84.6266.

This waterfall is coded yellow due to the long hike required. This is not a short hike. Experienced hikers can reportedly make the return trip in about 6-7 hours. Anyone that chooses to make this trip would need to plan ahead and research this trip beyond what is presented here. Remember, this web site just provides general information and does not instruct you to do anything.

Waterfalls of Ontario Project

This project has been online since 1999, in print since 2003, and on social since 2011. (See archives: 2003, 2012, 2018). It was the first to inventory and map Ontario's waterfalls for recreational purposes. With your continued help, it grows. Learn more...
