There are several small waterfalls in the northern outskirts of Sault Ste. Marie. 'Gros Cap' is the name for the large rocky hills formed by a batholith; a deep igneous rock mass that intruded the original rocks in the area. This leads to the topography rising dramatically just to the north of the city. Several small streams tumble down the hills forming a few waterfalls here and there. While I haven't found any of them myself, Billy Wilson sure has. A large number of his waterfall photos are featured on google maps. I believe that a lot of these need some real bushwhacking to find. If you have come across any of them, please let me know.
