This is one of the premier waterfalls in southern Ontario and should be on everyone's list. It is a 27 m plunge and a real beauty. You have to pay to park here, but it's worth it because you will be here for several hours. You should be warned, however, that the falls can dry up completely in late summer.
When river levels are low enough, visitors have been known to hike back upstream along the edge of the river bed. Some visitors have reported that if they stay to the left, and watch where their step, they can make it to the base of the falls. This is not possible if flows are not low.
This waterfall is featured in the 'Waterfalls of Ontario' book. Please pick up a copy to learn more. This helps to support this project.
