About Bisset Creek Falls
A beautiful set of falls that is off the beaten track, but not too difficult to access. The roads get a little bumpy, but are passable in most cars. Look for the trailhead on the outside (right side) of a left turn. The parking coordinates should be close to the trailhead. It's only 100 m to the falls. This is one of those waterfalls that comes in several parts, making it difficult to make a pleasing photograph of the whole thing. The best section is the midde section, just beyond the large boulders that first greet you as you meet the river. I saw a family having a picnic on a flat rock platform beside the main falls. A very short hike upstream leads to a much narrower but pretty section of the river. A small picturesque drop in this section was used as the title page for the Waterfalls of Ontario Facebook group for a while. Another very short hike leads to the end of a long pond. At the far end, you can see the upper falls. The trick to finding this falls is to take Bissett Creek Rd for about 5.3 km, but then turn right. Follow this unnamed road for about 1.2 km to where it bends fairly sharply to the left. There is a path on the right side of the road.
