This small barrier cascade is wide, fairly steep, but only about 2 metres high. Only one contour line crosses the river at this point. The falls are located about 500 m upstream from where the Crow River drains into the much larger Petawawa River.
The mouth of the Crow River is about 10 km upstream or west along the Petawawa River from the Achray Road. This means that paddlers would need a multi-day trip. This stretch of the Petawawa River includes a number of small cascades and rapids, including places like Devil's Cellar Rapids, Rocky Chute Rapids, and MacDonald's Rapids. Lots of portaging too.
