This small cascade is found at the outlet of Kashegaba Lake. An unnamed creek drains the lake towards Whites Lake, located about 1.8 km downstream. (Another 2 km downstream of White's Lake, the creek empties to the Magnetawan River.
Facebook group member Serena Tensashcuk told me that the Kashegaba Lake dam site dates back to the early-mid 1900’s, but that the present dam was reconstructed in 1996. The 'Bob' comes from Robert F. Moore, for his service to the Magnatawan pioneer association. Robert was the grandfather of one of Serena's friends. Ontario is a big place, but there is always someone with a connection to what we are seeing.
At the time of writing, there appear to be plans to reconstruct the dam again.
Finding Bolger Bob Falls is a real challenge. There is a route to get to Kashegaba Lake, but it requires a jeep or truck, as it traverses bare bedrock. Upon reaching the lake, it is possible to canoe to the falls and back. But this makes for a long day, and only for those with the right gear.
