Facebook GroupI’ve only visited this falls once, and it was during a low flow period in the fall. The falls are immediately downstream of a dam that mains the water level in Round Lake. The falls are easily viewed from the road bridge.
A trail from the parking area leads into the woods, veers to the left, and pops out at the edge of the creek. Manouvering can be difficult due to thick vegetation and tight angles.
An upper slide portion is situated immediately downstream of the dam, followed by a more gentle cascading section just downstream. The river bends sharply, and it can be difficult to capture the whole falls in a single frame.
A high near-vertical rock cliff on the north side of the creek is impressive, at least for this relatively small site. A short, weak path from the parking area leads to the river level.
NOTE: Remember that the area downstream of a dam can be dangerous. If the dam opens, it can suddenly change a trickle of a flow to a torrent. Anyone choosing to access the river from the woods does so at their own risk.
