Facebook GroupThere are two very wide plunge waterfalls here, but each is less than 1 m high. The falls extend right across the 75 m wide river river. Even with such low falls, this is a great place to explore, and with some ingenuity, I made some cool pictures.
The park and driveway approaching the falls can be very wet in spring, making car travel difficult. Not to worry, it isn't a long walk to the river. And the walk along the river bed can be really cool at low flow as it is bare rock, about 50 m wide.
There are karst features in the river bed, above and at the falls themselves. At some places, sheets of limestone have separated from the river bed, and water drains between and under them. Michael Gordon's The Rock Watching book suggesets that there were caves at this site.
