This gorgeous waterfall is located about a 90 minute hike north from Hwy 17. There is also a bush road that leads to a trail that reportedly gets visitors to within a 10 minute hike from the falls. I have yet to visit, and aerial photography in the area isn't great. Can you help to improve this entry?
Aerial photography shows a bush road on the west side of the river and another on the east. Both come to within several hundred metres of the falls. I do not know if the quality of these roads is sufficient for a regular car or SUV, but hope to find out. Also, while the road on the east side clearly meets Hwy 17, I cannot find how to access the road on the west side.
This waterfall is coded yellow because I don't have clear information about access. It may not be visitable in a regular car. Many backroads in northern Ontario have no signs and are subject to washouts. They may also be used by logging trucks that come at speed.
The waterfalls are mid-way between the two high-voltage hydro transmission corridors that cross this area. The eastern road that MAY give access to the falls meets Hwy 17 at 48.9267, -87.8436.
