There are actually four very small waterfalls in this suburban Brockville park. They are each no more than 1 m high. If you are up for a leisurely stroll through a city park, this is a cute little find.
The first two falls occur as a side by side set. My guess is that during snowmelt in the spring, the creek might swell and merge the two falls together. These are located on a very short side trail that runs right behind the houses bordering the park.
The third falls, arguably the largest (it's all relative!) is along the main path. A sign at the site calls this 'Booth Falls'. I am still trying to find out if this name applies to the entire site, or just this falls. The fourth, the smallest, is just downstream about 50 m or so. It really is just a rock rapids, with a fall of maybe 50 cm.
These waterfalls are small! With some creativity, photographers can make brilliant images of small waterfalls. The other benefit of little waterfalls is that they are still great finds for little people out exploring the world.
Baker Park is less than 1 km from the Hwy 401 exit for Stewart Blvd. Parking is available in a gravel lot on the south side of Central Ave., east of Westminster Public School. The paved Brock Trail leads south from the parking lot and soon reaches another paved trail on the left that leads over a footbridge to the upper two falls.
