About High Chute

High Chute is a small-to-medium sized cascade. It is gentle enough to be run by whitewater paddlers, but vertical enough to be of interest to waterfallers. Most people will visit by kayak, however, you can also visit on foot if you are willing to make the 9km long hike (or mountain bike) along the rail trail. A rock overlook provides a great view of the winding rapids, and hopefully, a kayaker or two making their way down. Thanks to Tim McKee of Dirt Road Traveller for this photo, and for reporting another small falls on a tributary trail along the way.
