The rapids along the Oxtongue River are gorgeous any time of year, but especially so during fall. A few hundred meters upstream from the road-side rapids there is a real waterfall, that some call Hogs Trough and others call Elbow Falls.

This is a classic 'trough' style waterfall (see the 4th edition of the book for an explanation). It's not very high, but it is rugged. At low flows, some visitors have carefully explored the exposed rock beside and above the falls.

The quickest access is from the road about 150 m to the north. A low-capacity wooden bridge crosses the river. There is a small gravel parking area right before the bridge. A trail along the right side of the river (looking downstream) leads about 5 mins to an elevated lookout over the falls.
