Algoma Region - Waterfall List

Maps Featured Falls More Falls

This beautiful region features some big waterfalls. The drive between them is worth the trip alone, as the scenery along the Trans-Canada Highway between Sault Ste Marie and Wawa is awesome! Rugged rock cuts intermingle with broad sweeping bays and sandy beaches along the shore of Lake Superior.

Many of the best waterfalls are found right along Hwy 17. The big ones near Wawa are just a short drive off the highway - look for signs or ask a local (and be sure to visit the big goose!).

Further 'inland' you can find the surprisingly large Aubrey Falls. The trip down Hwy 129 is very scenic, more than making up for the extra time. A growing number of smaller waterfalls has been added to the inventory over the years.

The Trans-Canada Hwy is highly travelled, but be sure not to let the gas in your car run low, especially if you are travelling a little off the beaten path.
