About Maple Leaf Rapids

This is not a destination, but it can be pretty. If you are in the are and looking for the other the falls along Papineau Creek, it might be worth a stop. The pretty little rapids is set at the edge of the woods, where the creek daylights and flows towards a culvert under Hastings Rd 62. You would need to scramble down the hill beside the road, and crash through some brush. Not too hard, but this is only for purists! The good news is that everyone else can spot the rapids from the side of the road. Park about 100 m to the east, beyond the guardrail, where the shoulder is wider.
