This is a small waterfall along the Oxtongue River, downstream of the much larger, and more visitable Ragged Falls. The falls is separated into a narrow, 3 m high upper cascade and a much wider 3-4 m high lower cascade. The lower falls is broken by several tiny bedrock islands. Though the falls isn't too big, it has a reliable flow.
Recently, land access to this waterfall has been restored. A beautiful gazebo allows you to sit and relax beside the falls in a degree of comfort that we waterfallers are not accustomed too. Thanks to the Lake of Bays Heritage Foundation for aquiring and maintaining this site.
The south side of the river is still privately owned. You can park in a small lot on the side of the road and walk right in. There is an interpretive sign to talk about the local ecosystem.
NOTE: I have read that you need to make reservations to visit this site. When I drove by the location a year or two before writing this, I saw no signs nor indications that this was the case. Are you famliar with the site? Can you correct this entry?
