A very small falls found at the interface between the beach and the forest. This little slope cascade dumps right into a tiny lagoon cut into the sands of the harbour beach.
McCoy's Harbour is one of dozens of small coves along the north shore of Lake Superior, in an area about 20 km west from Michipicoten Harbour (Wawa area).
The creek feeding this falls has a small watershed and likely dries up during a warm summer. I found that while the stream is only 3 km long, it falls more than 200 m of elevation in that short distance.
Finding this falls requires either a motorboat with long range, or, a paddle along the Superior Highlands canoe route. This route stretches 90 km from the Pukaskwa River in Pukaskwa National Park, east to Michipicoten. The trip takes from 5 to 7 days.
