This waterfall is only visitable by canoe or boat. Fortunately, it is not a long paddle away from a car park. This is only one of a number of beautiful, unspoiled small-medium sized waterfalls in the western portion of Muskoka.
The upper portion of the falls is often constricted through a narrow notch, while the lower portion, about 100 m downstream, is a gentler, wider cascade. Photos shared online usually show lots of visitors during summer. Unfortunately, it is also the scene of several recent drownings. You must be careful here.
You may be able to boat or paddle from the marina at Wood's Bay. This would require a trip of about 7 km. Alternative, you may be able to paddle from Moon River Cottages, for a shorter 2.5 km trip. Both of these places are private businesses, so please call ahead to see if they allow use of their facilities for this purpose.
The driving directions lead to the marina at Woods Bay, just for convenience for those that may set out from here.
