About North Bay Falls
This waterfall was sent to me by 'Backroads' Bill Steer. Bill is the General Manager of the Canadian Ecology Centre in Mattawa. An avid adventurer based in North Bay, he also writes for CBC. This small falls is located on the side of the road cut for Hwy 11 as it climbs 100 m north out of North Bay. Thousands of motorists pass this perenneial falls every day. While you may be tempted to pull over to get out for a look, be aware that this is a busy road. Fortuantely, a trail leading south from Cochrane Road leads to a lookout above the falls. In the distance, you can see a part of the city as well as Lake Nipissing.
Can you help? Do you know if there is a local name for this waterfall? Please let me or Bill know!
