This is a very small barrier cascade rapids along the Current River, with a fall of no more than 1 m. It can be seen from the North Branch Rd bridge, and is about 100 m in the distance.
If you've guessed that this is not a spectacular site, you'd be correct! Still, like any waterfall, it's what you make of it. The river is tree-lined, with some gentle hills in the background. I suspect that this would make a nice photo.
The Crown Land Map shows that this site is on a pocket of Crown Land on the outskirts of Thunder Bay. The land on either side of the river becomes private further upstream from the rapids. It may be possible to reach the side of the rapids by walking along the shoreline during summer. I've never visited, have you? This route is probably swamped during higher flows in spring.
Aerial photography shows further rapids and small cascades upstream from this point. It may be possible to paddle upstream, but at the same time, it may be impossible to portage given the private property lining the river.
