This is a very small but picturesque cascade on the Kennissis River, between Big Hawk Lake and Nunikani Lake. It cannot be reached by land. It is possible to paddle (or boat) to the falls; the river is part of the Gull River Canoe Routes.

Paddlers could probably park and access the water at Big Hawk Lake Marina. This is on the opposite (south) end of the lake, and is just 500 m up the road from the Hawk Lake Log Slide. Paddle distance to the falls would be about 5 km. There may be a closer place to put in, but it looks like the lake is otherwise rimmed by private cottages.

Driving directions lead to the Marina for convenience. Please call ahead to ask if you wish to leave your car for the day.

Waterfalls of Ontario Project

This project has been online since 1999, in print since 2003, and on social since 2011. (See archives: 2003, 2012, 2018). It was the first to inventory and map Ontario's waterfalls for recreational purposes. With your continued help, it grows. Learn more...
