About Old Man's River Falls

Old Man's River Falls is a great find. Once you've found the trailhead (it's easy to drive by without noticing), it's an easy hike down to the base of the falls. Just be sure to keep right on the trails. You will end up at the base of the falls, which are perhaps 8-10 m high. While fairly vertical, this is still a cascade, and the falling water picks a variety of paths down over the rock face, depending on the stream flow that day. During low flow, you can easily rock-hop across to the other side to explore the ruins of an old factory. Just further downstream (reached by following the main trail) is a much smaller waterfall that is a real 'hidden gem'. Yes, it's tiny, but you could sit and reflect here for an hour, hidden from the trail behind a low rock wall.
