Pig Pen Chutes is a fun pit stop if you are traveling north to see the 5-star Aubrey Falls. The chute is not much of a waterfall, but it's more of a large rock-lined rapids. Some more experienced paddlers can navigate through the chute, although you wouldn't find me doing it! At higher flow, this can be quite impressive. Bedrock lines each bank of the river, funneling the big river through this narrow stretch.

There is parking availble in a wide gravel patch on the west side of Hwy 129. Visitors should park as close to the woods as possible; large vehicles periodically need these spaces to turn around.

It's been years since I visited. There is a sign showing at the edge of the parking area, but I can't make out what it says. This website does not give you permission to park anywhere.

If you have a photo and any tips about this site, I'd be grateful to hear from you.

The drive along Hwy 129 is worth the trip alone. The Mississagi Valley creates very high, steep hills for much of the route, with things just getting better the further north you go.
