This is a decent-sized waterfall that I believe can only be reached by water. Paddlers may be able to park and put in at the boat launch along Hwy 509, where it crosses Miller Lake (this is the destination for the driving coordinates).
The water route would require a 1.5 km paddle to the west end of Miller Lake, where there is a very small unnamed rapids. From here, another 1.5 km paddle upstream fis neeed to reach the rapids. Several portages are required.
A second, wider falls is located 700 m further upstream. This is found at the outlet of Otter Lake, which stands 24 m higher than Miller Lake. The Waterfalls of Ontario book lists this falls as Ragged Chute, but government maps use this term for the first falls. If you reach either waterfall, I'd be grateful for any report.
NOTE: I have not paddled this river and have no idea if it is safe to do so. Much of the land along the river route is privately held; it is not Crown Land. I saw an article where the land owners lamented the poor behaviour of hikers that were able to find a route to the falls. This land route was closed because of it.
The river is crown water, but do not explore the lands beyond the immediate river banks. Also, before attempting this route, explorers must research other resources for tips on canoeing this stretch.
