This is set of low rapids and cascades, less than 30 m from the road. Since the river is well below the road elevaion, it is easy to miss the falls while driving by. If you drive slow enough, you should see the river and even a bit of whitewater. Open your windows and you will easily hear it!
Note that there is a very small cascade at the bottom of the site, closest to the road. You may reach it first if you choose to explore the site. A somewhat larger one is found just 10-20 m upstream. This cascade and rapids stretches upstream for about 50 m. Thanks to Gary LeClair for writing about this one on his Facebook page, 'Waterfalls of Northern Ontario'.
Follow Sudbury Rd 584 north from Capreol. This becomes known as Moose Mountain Mine Rd. After about 15 mins it crosses the Vermillion River and then the railway tracks. About 5 mins later, a one-lane bridge. Just over 0.3 km later, the road bends to the right. I have been told that there is safe roadside parking, but have yet to visit. The falls are in the valley to the left. I don't know if there is a trail. If you choose to explore, be aware that the descent to the river is short but steep.
