About Roland Cascade

A very small gentle cascade that was brought to my attention by Facebook group member John Ellin. It is located in a small gully on the north side of Roland Rd, just south of the hydro line cut. This appears to be just inside the southern edge of Short Hills Prov Park. It is long, gently sloping cascade with a washboard-style profile. The total fall was estimated at about 8 m, but there is no vertical plunge. Other images of the gorge show that it is full of brush and old logs... probably meaning that channel-clearing flows are rare.
