Our Responsibility
Waterfalls get closed when people are injured or ruin lands.

Please don't trespass, don't litter, and stay on the trail.

This location is found a few hundred metres upstream of the main waterfall at Silver Falls. I have not included it as a separate waterfall before, but people were telling me that they turn around at the main falls and miss the extra stuff upstream. So I'm adding this spot as an entry, even if it is arguably a part of the Silver Falls experience

By continuing upstream from the main falls at Silver Falls, the trail gives access to a calmer, boulder-choked reach of the river. The upper falls occurs not far upstream, after a hard left turn along the river.

The upper falls is a more chaotic scene, and less imposing. But it's not small, and were this on it's own, it would get three stars. Since this is sort of an extension of the main falls, I used two stars so as not to oversell the entire site too much.

Waterfalls of Ontario Project

This project has been online since 1999, in print since 2003, and on social since 2011. (See archives: 2003, 2012, 2018). It was the first to inventory and map Ontario's waterfalls for recreational purposes. With your continued help, it grows. Learn more...
