This is a small out-of-the-way falls that you are likely to have for yourself. It can be accessed on foot, but may take about 40-60 mins to reach. Fortunately, the Algonquin Park landscape makes any such journey relaxing and rewarding.
The 'falls' is no more than a small sub-vertical section followed by a series of very small forest cascades. Pretty, but manage your expectations.
To reach the falls, visitors need to first find Provoking Falls. There are two trails to that waterfall. One route leads south from the Mew Lake Campround, and then turns left on the Highland Backpack Trail. The second option, which is longer, steeper, quieter, more scenic, and more direct is to the follow the Highland Backpacking Trail. See the entry for Provoking Falls for details.
From Provoking Falls, the route crosses the footbridge and continues east on the Highland Backpacking Trail. After about 1.2 km (15 mins or so) it crosses a small creek that drains into Starling Lake. You should be able to hear the creek gurgle, but the falls are in the woods, a few minutes upstream from the trail.
As you get close to the cascade, the river valley gets narrow, with rock walls on either side. A small pool below the falls stretches from one rock wall to the other.
