This long narrow falls blasts through a notch in the bedrock before dropping into a small bay in the Swallow River. A high, tilted rock wall forms the left side of the trough. The total height of the falls exceeds 10 m.
Few of us will ever see Swallow River Falls. It is located in Pukaska National Park, about 1 km inland from the Lake Superior shore. But the mouth of the river is about 50 km southeast from the access point at the mouth of the Pic River. This means a multi-day paddle across the big lake. This trip would be for experienced adventurers only.
The driving coordinates lead to the Pic River area access point, just for convenience.
