A number of the creeks in the Niagara Peninsula are named after the distance in miles from the Niagara River. Most tumble over waterfalls, and Thirty Road Falls is no different. With one of the smallest watersheds of them all, however, the falls on Thirty Mile Creek is one of the smallest.
The hike is nice, and at the right time of year this is a pleasant spot. The hike leads to a culvert over the creek. The culvert has been fortified by loosely placed slabs of limestone. Just downstream, the creek has created a short plunge waterfall, perhaps about 3 m tall.
The driving directions here lead to a small side road at the top of the hill. This section of road has a wide dirt and grass blvd where there are no homes, and offers space for safer parking. The suggestion to park here is because there is really no parking available near the trail entrance on Thirty Road. One might be able to fit a car here, but it's not ideal.
From the parking area, explorers turn left on Thirty Rd and start down the hill. After about 200 m, there is an entrance to the Bruce Trail on the left. The trail leads 100 m to the creek crossing. The falls are just downstream.
