This is in a great park on the outskirts of Thunder Bay. It includes a small campground and several kilometres of hiking trails. It also includes several small waterfalls that appear as low steps stretching across the full width of the river. The step-like nature of the falls is the result of the presence of carbonate metasedimentary rock belonging to the Gunflint formation.
From the parking area, follow the trail through the open field to the footbridge. If you cross the bridge, you will connect to a substantial hiking trail network.
For the waterfalls, however, stay on the same side of the river and follow the trail further upstream along the edge of the river. You will soon reach several locations where you can observe the waterfalls up close.
