This pretty little cascade is a good consolation prize for not being able to reach the 'main' Wasi Falls downstream. The 'main' waterfall is located on private residential property about 600 m downstream and you cannot visit. But this smaller, attractive cascade is accessible, and I think that it is actually a better spot.
The cascade is shaded in the forest and is only a few steps from Wasi Falls Rd. It is just visible from the road, but clearly audible. The rapids actually stretch along the road for about 50-60 m, starting just downstream of the bridge for Hwy 654. The best section (I think?) is marked here on the map.
The cascade is located within a right-of-way along the river. This right-of-way meets to the road allowance for Wasi Falls Road (ie. there is no property line between the road and the river right of way). This means that you can see the cascade from the road. If you have to walk more than about 10 m, you are in the wrong spot. The last time I visited, I found a very short path (< 10 m) to the cascade. This includes some uneven ground, but no climbing.
To be clear, only a short ways downstream the land between the road and the river is private, being occupied by private residences. If you choose to visit, please stay in the area of the river that is close to the road, and watch for any signs. This website does not give you permission to trespass. NOTE: Previous versions of this web site and the Waterfals of Ontario book placed the cascade a bit too far downstream.
