This is a beautiful plunge-type waterfall that is not very well known. While the watershed feeding the creek at this site is small, the falls is suprisingly larger than you might have expected. A lookout platform on the north side of the valley gives a good view, but so too does a less civilized overlook situated behind an old garage on the south side of the creek.
NOTE: I have been told that access to the base of the falls is now being limited. My photos date to a few years earlier, where there were no such signs. To be fair, not every visitor would bother going to the base of the falls. The route is steep and a lot of work. The view from the top of the valley is actually just as dramatic. If you visit and can let me know if there are restrictions, please do.
This waterfall is featured in the 'Waterfalls of Ontario' book. Please pick up a copy to learn more. This helps to support this project. NOTE: There are no safety railings at this waterfall. Anyone that chooses to visit does so at their own risk.
