I have never visited this waterfall. I have been advised that you can hike in from the road along a driveway for a fish hatchery. The driveway has a gate across to cars, but there is no fence to keep people out. If you know any differently, please let me know.
The Wolf River flows over some monster waterfalls, such as at Red Rock Falls, many kilometres upstream. Several other waterfalls and rapids are visible on the map between Red Rock and Lake Superior. This falls is mapped as "Lower Falls".
Given the pattern of contour lines on the topographic maps, it is likely less than 5 m high. And different air photos show different conditions; ranging from a solid blotch of white water to a narrow notch of flow during low summer low flow conditions.
I'm surprised that I have not seen this waterfall posted on social media. Fish Hatchery Road makes a hard left turn at 48.8379, -88.5835. At this point, a driveway continues north. After about 500 m the driveway makes a hairpin turn to the right. Just before this turn, a trail on the left leads 200 m further north to the falls.
An upper falls is located about 3 km upstream. The river meanders a lot, meaning that it should be fairly flat, and maybe possible to canoe upstream to?
