A rugged, yet accessible falls that includes elements of the slide and trough forms. This is located in Arrowhead Provincial Park, just outside of Huntsville; in all my years of waterfalling I still haven't visited!
Park admission is required and the park is closed during the off-season. Arrowhead is a very popular park and is usually quite busy. The falls are a popular with visitors and campers alike. On warm weekends you should expect to run into a lot of visitors, including some that are frolicking in, on, or around the falls.
A footbridge that arches over the river just upstream of the falls makes a nice backdrop. Access to the riverbed is pretty easy at lower flows, with lots of bare bedrock (gneiess) outcropping along the river's edge.
The driving directions lead to the entrance to the park. After entering the park, Arrowhead Park Road will soon cross a bridge over the Little East River. There is a parking lot on the left, and access to the Stubbs Falls Trail. This starts on the other side of the road and follows the river downstream. The hike is about 1km to the falls, and passes behind the East River Campground; this isn't a remote wilderness hike!
NOTE: Someone died here in 2018. The person had been wading in the water and got caught in rocks and pinned underwater. The Waterfalls of Ontario Project recommends against swimming at any Ontario waterfall.
