A very pretty, steep cascade located at the edge of town. This is a highight waterfall in the area. Most of the falls west of Thunder Bay are smaller and more spread out. While not huge, the use of 'little' in the name is not appropriate. It is surrounded by a park and makes for a beautful place for a stretch.
You can see the falls right from the parking area, but can also follow a short trail to the left to reach a footbridge over the river. This leads to more trails on the far side of the river. It also gives a view of the "hidden" falls, which is a second waterfall that isn't immeidately visible in the classic shots of this waterfall.
At higher flows, the smaller waterfall is just as big as the main one. A low water level control dam at the top of the falls is almost out of view, and doesn't overpower the natural look of the falls in one bit.
