Rockway Falls has a striking gorge that is at least as deep as that of nearby Balls Falls. I consider Rockway Falls to be one of the primary examples of a "washboard" waterfall, where water slides down at a very steep angle without losing contact with the rock.
At the time this site was being updated, the Rockway site was being redeveloped. I always felt that the site was overdue for 'improvements'. I think that they are paving the parking lot and installing a pay machine. This is fair; it's a good destination. If you visit the site after it reopens, please let me know what you find.
This waterfall is featured in the 'Waterfalls of Ontario' book. Please pick up a copy to learn more. This helps to support this project.
