These two waterfalls are just outside of downtown Ottawa, just north of the Byward Market. They are found immediately east of the National Research Council building on Sussex Drive. Here, the Rideau River falls over the steep cliffs along the Ottawa River, forming two beautiful wide curtains throughout the year.
Parking is available in the residential area just to the east. I've parked on John St, resulting in a short walk of just 300 m to get to the falls. A cross walk is available to get across Sussex Drive.
This waterfall is featured in the 'Waterfalls of Ontario' book. Please pick up a copy to learn more. This helps to support this project.
