Waterfall Road Trips
There aren't many waterfalls right in Toronto, but there are lots of options for day trips out of the city! Learn more about waterfall roadtripping.
For a shorter day, try trip No. 1 to Hamilton or No 6 to Elora.
Hamilton is the 'City of Waterfalls', and is a great first destination for a waterfall road trip from the GTA.
Make sure your first outing hits some of the better, more reliable ones. This is a full day, but you can easily cut a few out.
Some of the best waterfalls in cottage country are really easy to find. A great outing for people that aren't used to straying far from civilization.
Everyone knows about Niagara Falls. But there are also several great waterfalls just west of St. Catharines. This trip is classic waterfalling.
Some of the prettiest waterfalls in Ontario are found along this route. While some explorers might want to stay overnight in Owen Sound, this trip CAN be shortened (or rushed) into a very long day.
GTA residents have to go further east than they do west in order to find waterfalls. It takes a 2 hour drive from Toronto to the first waterfall. But from here, you can visit waterfalls in a variety of shapes and sizes. And the area is peppered with little towns and villages to give lots of options for pit stops.
A date-friendly outing combines a hike down to the Irvine Gorge with shopping and eating in this quaint town. The rest of us can add some smaller, yet scenic stops.
